CASE STUDY

With the explosive growth of padel in Mexico City, a new wave of clubs has emerged: yet most of them share the same visual language: bold sporty graphics, neon accents, and branding focused purely on performance. The category quickly became saturated and visually predictable, leaving little room for differentiation or aspiration. Marbella was conceived with a different vision. Rather than positioning itself as just another sports facility, it set out to become a social lifestyle club: a destination where matches extend into golden hour, where coffee turns into community, and where the terrace becomes as meaningful as the court itself. To reflect this shift, we developed a custom logotype designed specifically for the brand, introducing distinctive modifications in the A’s and the double L’s to create a sense of character and recognizability. The symbol merges two defining elements: a padel ball and a sunset, capturing the essence of Marbella as a place where sport meets atmosphere, and performance meets experience. The color palette intentionally avoids the typical neon blue-and-yellow combinations associated with the sport, instead embracing more refined, lifestyle-driven tones that elevate the perception of the club. This approach allowed the identity to move beyond functionality and into aspiration. The visual universe was further expanded through a lifestyle-oriented merchandise system and a series of custom illustrations blending padel elements, courts, rackets, and balls, with more atmospheric and aspirational motifs such as plants, sailboats, and sunset scenes. Together, these elements create a cohesive identity designed to feel premium, social, and culturally relevant. Marbella ultimately repositions the padel club as more than a place to play. It becomes a place to belong.
