CASE STUDY

Galera is a cultural center conformed by a Restaurant, a Library, a Venue, and a Co-Working Space, It is located at the Colonia Doctores in Mexico City. The design team developed a versatile signage system for Galera, using white luminous acrylic boxes that function effectively both day and night. This sleek, minimalist approach contrasts with the textured green walls and eclectic architecture. Prioritizing sustainability, the team reused existing materials: copper plumbing was turned into an entrance sculpture, and old X-rays were repurposed as business cards, reinforcing the space’s identity through thoughtful upcycling. The corporate logo, an abstract knot, symbolizes community and friendship. For customer-facing applications, such as menus, a practical, warm design was chosen. These are based on easily replaceable A4 prints, ensuring flexibility for regularly changing content. To maintain a cohesive identity while hosting diverse events, a clear and adaptable visual system was created. It uses color, typography, and frames to help visitors quickly identify different types of content, whether it’s an event announcement, a quote, or a simple photo of the venue.
